Huuhkajien entisellä päävalmentajalla Mixu Paatelaisella oli torstaina edessään tulikaste tosipeleissä uuden joukkueensa Latvian luotsina. Latvia avasi Nations League -taipaleensa kotiottelulla piskuista Andorraa vastaan, mutta tulos oli isännille karvas pettymys. Latvia jäi nimittäin Andorran kanssa maalittomaan tasapeliin.

Awful, just awful.

1st half ended in a 0-0.

Only players who I can praise after 1st? Kluškins, Šabala, Dubra and Vaņins. Others need to step up in the 2nd half.

Paatelainen will go absolutely bonkers in the locker room.

Embarassing, awful, humiliating perfomance from Latvian national team that's why they are ranked 129th in the FIFA World rankings.

Draw against Andorra at home is even worse than losing to Gibraltar last year at their place.

Don't even want to think what will happen in Georgia.

Two years ago in the exact date, we barely beat Andorra 1-0 at their home soil

Players and coach excuses were that the field was in awful condition.

I would like to know what will be the excuse this time? Kind a sad for those almost 5000 people who were watching this game live.

Latvia sai ottelussa aikaiseksi kaksi laukausta kohti maalia Andorran nollaa vastaan. Lohkon toisessa ottelussa Georgia haki Kazakstanista 2-0 -vierasvoiton. Sunnuntaina Latvia vierailee Georgiassa toisen kierroksen ottelussa.
