Norwich kiitää kohti Valioliigaa – vaihderikas loppu piti eron entisellään

Teemu Pukin Norwichin kahdeksan ottelun voittoputki meni poikki, kun se tasasi pisteet Readingin kanssa maalein 2-2. Vierasjoukkue Reading johti ottelua vielä 86. minuutilla maalein 1-0. Maalin teki Yakou Meite puolen tunnin kohdalla.

Kanarialinnut kuitenkin osoittivat sisuaan, ja nousivat parissa minuutissa rinnalle ja ohi. Norwich näytti jo voittavan pelin 2-1, mutta ilo oli ennenaikaista. Lisäajan seitsemännellä minuutilla Andy Rinomhota toi vielä vieraat tasoihin ja katkaisi Norwichin voittoputken.

Kun sarjakolmonen Sheffield United pelasi 1-1 -tasapelin Birminghamissa, on Norwichilla edelleen seitsemän pisteen etumatka Unitediin. Sarjaa on pelaamatta viisi kierrosta. Sarjan neljäntenä oleva West Bromwich ei käytännössä voi Norwichia enää kiinni saada.

Norwichin tasoitusmaalin teki 86. minuutilla Ben Godfrey ja johtomaalin kaksi minuuttia myöhemmin Christoph Zimmermann. 2-1 -maalin jälkeen Teemu Pukki otettiin vaihtoon.

Vaikka Pukki ei tänään maaleja tehnytkään, oli hän ottelussa silti vahvasti esillä. Norwichin liveseuranta kertoo Pukin olleen lähellä viimeistelyä useaan otteeseen.
