Glen Kamaralle uran ensimmäinen ulosajo - 10 000 koululaista katsomossa käyttäytyi häpeällisesti suomalaista kohtaan

Glen Kamaralla oli torstaina hyvin synkkä ilta. Eikä ainoastaan siitä syystä, että Sparta Praha kaatoi Eurooppa-liigassa Kamaran edustaman Rangersin 1-0 ja jätti skottiseuran nollakerhoon kahden pelatun kierroksen jälkeen. 25-vuotias Huuhkajien keskikenttäpelaaja ei ottelua loppuun saakka pelannut, sillä hänet ajettiin toisen varoituksen myötä ulos 74. peliminuutilla. Ensimmäisen varoituksensa Kamara oli saanut reilut puoli tuntia aiemmin. Punainen kortti oli Kamaran koko ammattilaisuran ensimmäinen ja tuli helposti. Kamara sai toisen keltaisensa hyvin kevyestä kontaktista hypättyään taistelemaan pääpallosta.

Kaikkein ikävintä Kamaran surkeassa illassa on kuitenkin se, kuinka kotiyleisö kohteli häntä. UEFA oli rankaissut Sparta Prahaa pitämällä stadionin faneilta suljettuna, koska Spartan kannattajat olivat solvanneet AS Monacon Aurelien Tchouamenia rasistisesti joukkueiden keskinäisessä kohtaamisessa. Myönnytyksenä UEFA kuitenkin salli, että katsomoon päästettiin 10 000 prahalaista alle 14-vuotiasta koululaista. Jostain juniorit olivat kuitenkin huonoja vaikutteita imeneet, sillä Kamaralle buuattiin joka kerta, kun hän koski ottelussa palloon. Kamaran saaman kohtelun uskotaan perustuneen viime kevään rasistiseen välikohtaukseen. Slavia Prahan – Sparta Prahan verivihollisen – Ondrej Kudela solvasi Kamaraa rasistisesti ottelussa Rangersia vastaan ja sai UEFA:lta jälkikäteen 10 ottelun pelikiellon. Nähtävästi tapahtumat jättivät pahasti jotain hampaankoloon yli seurarajojen, koska Spartan alaikäinen kotiyleisö ei suinkaan kohdellut Glen Kamaraa solidaarisuudellaan vaan päinvastoin hyvin epäurheilijamaisesti. Ottelun ainoan maalin teki slovakialainen David Hancko.

Can't recall a more wretched sight/sound in European football lately than thousands of Czech children booing Glen Kamara's every touch for Rangers against Sparta Prague. Inside a stadium meant to be closed by UEFA because of fans' racism. Appalling.
